A few nights ago I got together with some friends and a bottle of Stoli, in celebration of my friend Chris’ 24th birthday, to watch Indi 4 - and I’m so glad there was a bottle of Stoli. I told myself I was going to hold off on a review until I re-watched the original three, but I thought it would be more fair to do a review of the movie with my initial review and (if I find myself feeling any different) I might do a followup review.

There was a post on “Ain’t It Cool” news with a picture of the original Minutemen (like in the comic) in a 1940 lineup - check it out. Man, that is badass! I do have very high hopes for this movie, and I hope that I’m not let down by it. I know they’re leaving out one plot-thread (the pirate comic, for those who’ve read it) and that doesn’t so much bother me because it just added commentary to what was happening in the main comic. Hopefully they’ll film those parts and release it in something like fear.net did with the “30 Days of Night: Blood Trails” shorts.

Since my class ends today I will have time to tool around with this site over the next couple of weeks. I wanted to post here a few things I’m hoping to implement so I don’t forget and so people know that I’m actually doing things while I’m not posting (I also have a Twitter feed that gets updates frequently to let people know what I’m up to as well. Gotta love microblogging.)
More after the jump.

Saw the trailer on myspace of all places (bleh) and the only reason I checked it out was because of the frozen image of Bill Murray on the trailers thumbnail. (link is to City of Ember website, not myspace - I will never purposefully send anyone there) First thing I thought of while watching this trailer was the Fallout series.

So in an attempt to be regular with keeping this blog up to date while maintaining the “quality” post I would like to strive to achieve I am trying something other than Scribefire. It was a decent plugin for Firefox, and it worked very well for what I was using it for - but I could not keep my blogs organized when I was offline (like in class, for instance) which is really horrible for me because I am very horrible at staying organized in the first place.

I heard about this a few months (almost a year?) ago and thought it could be a cool idea, and it was even really hot that Scarlett Johansson thinks enough of Tom Waits and his music to do an album of all covers of his songs… but you hear that reverb/echo/synth sound to her voice? That’s the same shit they did to Cher when she could no longer keep on key to save her life.

NIN: The Slip
NIN’s first full free album, The Slip, was released a couple of days ago and I’m just getting around to listening to it for about the 3rd or 4th time so I figured I’d give it a short review.

After hearing the announcement that Doom 4 is going into production I stopped and thought about it- does this really surprise me? Fuck no. Doom 3 was a game that everyone and their mother was waiting for and that was annoyingly dark and that fucking flashlight that won’t attach to your fucking gun so you can see and shoot like a fucking sane person instead of trying to shoot, check where the monster is with the muzzle flash, adjust to the newish position of the monster, shoot again, find out you didn’t hit it again, lather, rinse, repeat.

As everyone knows (or should, dangit) Harvey Dent (a Gotham DA & Two-Face) will be played by Aaron Eckhardt in the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, due out in July.

God, will I ever get to tweaking more of this theme than I already have? I thought it was going to be great, but the way it’s displaying images is pissing me off!
